Deaconess Carrie Sovola (she/her) practices her ministry advocating for the LGBTQ+ community.

She is a board member of LGBTQ Outreach of Porter County, co-chairs the LGBTQ Business Resource Group at her place of employment, and volunteers with local area PFLAG chapters.

Carrie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Concordia University Chicago and serves on the IN-KY Synod Family Systems team.

She lives in Schererville, IN.

Carrie will share her personal journey of self-discovery and her diaconal identity within the LGBTQ+ community and will lead a discussion around welcome and affirmation, pronouns, advocacy, and local support organizations.
