NAEYC Accreditation
Little Lamb Preschool Earns National NAEYC Accreditation
Program recognized among the top in the nation by earning accreditation
Valparaiso, IN – Little Lamb
Preschool locatedin Valparaisohas earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)—the world's largest organization working on behalf of young children.
NAEYC Accreditation is a rigorous and transformative quality-improvement system that uses a set of 10 research-based standards to collaborate with early education programs to recognize and drive quality-improvement in high-quality early learning environments. We’re proud to have earned the mark of quality from NAEYC, and to be recognized for our commitment to reaching the highest professional standards, “said Jen Gottlieb, Director
To earn NAEYC Accreditation, Little Lamb Preschool went through an extensive self-study and quality-improvement process, followed by an on-site visit by NAEYC Assessors to verify and ensure that the program met each of the ten program standards, and hundreds of corresponding individual criteria. NAEYC-accredited programs are always prepared for unannounced quality-assurance
visits during their accreditation term, which lasts for five years.
In the 30 years since NAEYC Accreditation was
established, it has become a widely recognized sign of high-quality early childhood education. More than 6,000 programs are currently accredited by NAEYC—less than 10 percent of all child care centers, preschools, and kindergartens nationally achieve this recognition.
“NAEYC-Accredited programs have committed to a process that takes time, energy and dedication to complete” states
Alissa Mwenelupembe, Senior Director Early Learning Program Accreditation. “Little Lamb Preschool has demonstrated their commitment to young children and their families.”

"Growing Faith" Sunday, March 19
Over the past three weeks we'veheard powerful storiesof how Christ Lutheran Church grows faith. In case you missed one, or want to hear them again, we have recordings on our website:
Please watch your U.S. mail for a letter
from the congregation! It contains your invitation to be part of our "Growing Faith" Sunday, this weekend, March 19. In it you'll find a letter with invitation, a "Growing Faith" brochure, and a Statement of Intent. You can see and fill these out online, or use the paper copies and mail them to the church or bring them on Sunday. As part of our worship we will return our Statements as an act of gratitude and worship for God's abundant blessings. And don't worry,
if you mailed or filled it out online, you will still be part of our ingathering celebration!
What a blessing this beautiful Christ Lutheran Church building is. And one of the ways we are blessed through it — and can be a blessing — is by “having company.” Every Saturday
night for six months, beginning April 15th, we will be having dinner and overnight guests— yes, we will be hosting the men’s shelter program again.
Welcoming these men for dinner and offering them a safe place to sleep over the past 10+ years has given many of us a chance to understand better how homelessness can happen, and how alike we all are— all people who need God’s guidance and
grace.
How can you be a part of this ministry?
Bring a meal
Buy groceries for our shelter pantry
Do a load of laundry
Spend 4 hours drinking coffee and answering emails while the men sleep
Exercise your organizational skills as part of the scheduling team

CLC Social Ministry and Mission
April 2023
• Each month the Social Ministry highlights a special giving opportunity. April’s emphasis is providing monetary and voluntary support for Housing
Opportunitieswww.hoi.help (2001 Calumet Ave., Valpo).
• With the extraordinary support from donors and the dedicated work of staff, Housing Opportunities serves many clients each year. Because of supporters, H.O. in fiscal year 2022 served 1,192 people across all programs. Thousands of hours of housing advocacy are provided to clients each
year. Also, H.O. has a resource center for vulnerable folks to shower, wash clothes, use pantry etc.
• We’ve been through a lot these past few years and while some difficulties are behind us, the return to any sense of normalcy does not provide a sense of relief for our neighbors struggling with homelessness and housing insecurity. Today, there are 129 households in our community who do not have secure homes or a warm place to sleep at night, who are
having to choose between paying the bills and putting food on the table.
• Food Pantry donations are welcomed! *Please see Facebook and www.hoi.help for updates needs
• Help achieve our goal of $2500 in April (over and above giving combined with CLC’s budgeted amount of $1200). Use your weekly worship giving envelope mailed with check to CLC and indicate “H.O.” or contribute through SubSplash on the CLC website https://clcvalpo.org via the “Give” button and choose Monthly Social Ministry Emphasis. Thank you to members for supporting monthly social ministry emphases.
