How can I change lives with our Shelter?
Our church has served as an overnight shelter for homeless men in Porter County for over ten years. We need volunteers to serve as overnight supervision, each
shift is 4.5 hours. You are there to make sure the men are comfortable and safe. Most of the time it is very quiet. Bring a book to read, movie to watch, work to do, etc. If you can offer even one shift it would be a great help!
What would my responsibilities be?
We will train you on what you need to
know and pair you up with someone that has done it before. If you have done it before but not recently, we need you too. Your main responsibility is to make sure the men are comfortable and safe.
