A note from Deepening our Welcome Thank you for the incredible response to our Exploratory Survey! We received 186 responses which is a
significant portion of our weekly worship attendance. We received overwhelming support and encouragement, as well as thoughtful suggestions, questions and concerns. We are reading every response, gathering questions and concerns, praying over revisions, and planning further conversations. Watch for opportunities for discussion and learning we will be offering this summer and fall, based on your responses. Thank you for your participation and feedback! Update from our "Growing Faith" emphasis Our display in the Gathering Area shows the current results of our Growing Faith emphasis: our
target was an increase of $1,303 per week. Current results (more come in every week!) indicate a projected weekly increase of $1,659.15. We are so grateful for the households who indicated they are able to maintain their giving from last year (28%) and those who indicated an increase in their giving (65%). We are thankful for the families who indicated they need to reduce their giving but are continuing to support our mission and ministry (2%). Our participation rate (57%
of our regularly-giving households returned a Statement of Intent) is quite high, and we are grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Library News Effective immediately, library donations are being suspended indefinitely. We have run out of
space.
Thank you for all your wonderful donations over the years! Please visit our library in the Gathering Place, we have a lot of books that you can check out and enjoy.

VBS 2023 - Adult and Youth Volunteers Needed! We need you! In order to welcome our CLC children and neighbors joyfully, to share the stories of God's love with them, we need our faithful and kind youth and adults on the mornings of June 19-22. Adult crew leaders are especially vital - your job would be to lead a crew of kids from station to station and help them participate - no preparation is needed as the station leaders provide all the content. Youth helpers
are needed to accompany crews and to assist in different stations.
Please let Jen (jen.bias@clcvalpo.org) know that you are able to help!
The "We Tie Together Quilters" are offering you the chance to tie some quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Join us in the Gathering Space during the Faith Formation Hour between services on Sunday, June 4th (9:20am-10:20am) to add your ties and blessings to a few of these lovingly made quilts. All materials will be provided and someone will show you what to do! Questions: Kathy Stefans 847-612-3025
CLC Social Ministry and Mission June 2023 As you do it for the least of these, you do it for Christ. (Matthew 25:40) Each month the Social Ministry highlights a special giving opportunity. June’s emphasis is providing support for the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana http://www.foodbanknwi.org and Project Neighbors https://projectneighbors.org or https://www.facebook.com/ProjectNeighbors. The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana’s (FBNI) mission is “to provide food for hungry
people in NW Indiana through a network of charities increasing public awareness and advocating solutions for the issues involved with hunger and acting as an info &referral source to the community”. FBNI is based in Merrillville and is affiliated with and meets the guidelines of Feeding America www.feedingamerica.org and distributes over 2 million pounds of goods/year through 90 network charities in NW
Indiana. Project Neighbors (454 College Ave.) is a Not-for-Profit organization in Valpo. By addressing issues of race, class and poverty, Project Neighbors’ goal is to build healthy families and neighborhoods, where diversity of all kinds is welcomed and cherished. Project Neighbors’ accomplishments in Valparaiso include affordable housing at Caroline's Place and Neighbor's Place and Respite House, childcare and preschool at
Hilltop House, community health centers in HealthLinc, and the region's only low-power, all-volunteer community radio station, WVLP, among other “risks-turned-rewards.” Help achieve our goal of $2500 in June (over and above giving combined with CLC’s budgeted amount of $1200). Use your weekly worship giving envelope mailed with check to CLC and indicate “FBNWI/PN” or contribute through Subsplash on the CLC website https://clcvalpo.org via the “Give” button and choose Monthly Social Ministry Emphasis. Thank you to members for supporting monthly social ministry emphases.
