It is with great sadness that we announce the death of
Janet
Scheuerman on Tuesday, January 23, 2024
Janet was born August 28, 1936, in
Cleveland, Ohio to the late Earl and Louise (Van Alstine) Lade, graduated from Berea High School, Ohio State University, and received a master’s degree in Medical Ethics from Valparaiso University where she still held season tickets for men’s basketball games. Janet’s career as a hospital consultant carried her through employment with Herman Smith Associates / Coopers & Lybrand / Price Waterhouse serving as a Healthcare Consultant rising to become a Partner, then was a key participant in
significant upgrades at several major Chicago Hospitals and concluded her working years with Prism Health Care Consulting.
Her active mind and lifestyle led to membership at Christ Lutheran Church – and their Book Club - the Bridge Club of Woodmere Estates, interest in all animals - especially birds & squirrels - crochet, needlepoint, crossword puzzles, diamond art, coloring books, traveling the world and the Great Lakes as an avid boat enthusiast, and visiting 49 of the 50 United States. Whichever one she missed; it was their
loss.
On April 11, 1959, she married the love of her life, Robert F. Scheuerman, who survives along with their daughters; Kristin Scheuerman of Valparaiso & Karin (Vincent
III) DiCecco of Dallas, GA, grandchildren; Dominic (Kate) DiCecco, Anthony (Samantha) DiCecco, Matteo DiCecco, and great grandchildren; Reagan, Maria, Oliver, Milo & Joie DiCecco, and the Shih Tzu’s, “Nellie” & “Toby”. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert J. Scheuerman in 2016, and brother, William Lade.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a
funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. and burial to follow at Angelcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
