Susan V. Wahlgren Reinhold, 68, of Valparaiso passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024. She was born September 2, 1956, in Ashton, Idaho to Morris A. & Ellen A. (Anderson) Wahlgren, graduated from St. Charles High School in Illinois in 1973 and received a B.A. from Valparaiso University in psychology in 1979. Susan was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Valparaiso where she assisted with numerous outreach activities over 45  years, especially hosting the homeless shelter. She enjoyed assisting with 4-H activities during the 10 years of Kirsten’s membership, but it was the 35 plus years as a Girl Scout leader that may have defined her. Sewing & quilting were treasured skills which she developed and became quite accomplished at along with her love of animals. 

On August 3, 1985, she married Anthony Reinhold who survives along with their daughter, Kirsten, four grandsons; Blake, Ethan, Logan & Coltan, and two brothers; Eric (Sue) Wahlgren & Richard (Maureen) Wahlgren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Susan adored being a grandmother and was adored by her grandsons. In recent years this is what she treasured the most.

A Memorial Gathering will be held October 26, 2024 from 

10:00-11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church 2610 N. Campbell St., Valparaiso, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00 AM.  Memorial donations may be made to the Girls Scouts of Valparaiso and Washington Township or Christ Lutheran Church.
