Thomas Frederick Macke, 71, of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025.
Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Thomas was a lifelong Hoosier who devoted his life to faith, family, and the pursuit of
justice.
Thomas graduated from Valparaiso University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy and a minor
in Mathematics. He then earned his Doctor of Laws from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1979.
As Owner and Senior
Trial Attorney at Blachly, Tabor, Bozik & Hartman, Thomas represented clients in personal injury and family law cases until his retirement. He served as President of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association from 2005 to 2006. He was also a dedicated member of the Board of Directors for Family House.
Guided by his faith, he sought always to “achieve my goals in a Christian manner.” He was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he taught Sunday school and was affectionately known for always bringing donuts.
Thomas enjoyed spending time with family, especially cooking for them. He could also often be found around a table playing euchre for hours.
Thomas is survived by his children: Kelley Macke, Katelyn Lambert (children Leah, Jessica, Hannah, Josie, and Jason Lambert), Kristen Bluell (Macke) and her husband Josh Bluell (children
Aaron and Lauren Bluell), and Madison Macke. He is also survived by his sister Deborah Medley and her husband Tom Medley.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mary Macke.
Thomas will be remembered for his deep faith, sharp mind, and
generous spirit. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched—as an attorney, teacher, mentor, and father.
Funeral
and memorial service details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
