Covid Update
We have watched with great hope as the Covid infection and case rates have continued moving,
quickly, in such promising directions. We are grateful to see such good news and, as has been our pattern, are ready to make some adjustments in our worship and other planning:
- Starting this Sunday, February 27, masks are encouraged but optional during worship. Naturally if you prefer to stay masked throughout the service, you are of course welcome to do so. Everyone will still need a mask for singing (see below!).
- Starting this Sunday, and especially as we move Lent with our Ash Wednesday service March 2, we are returning singing to our worship services including hymns and liturgical music. We ask that everyone bring a mask, or use one we have provided, for the singing portions.
- For Sunday School, our expectation for students and teachers to wear masks will remain the same for the time
being.
As you can imagine we are excited by these developments and trust that you are too. We will continue to monitor developments in our ongoing pandemic and, should the need arise, we will adjust these as needed. For now though, we look forward to
singing together!

New Creation Men's Center and Resale Shop
Friends, you all have been very generous with your
donations and we are very grateful for each one.
We are currently in need of your generosity of
gently used re-sellable donations once again. When you're doing your Spring cleaning this year, please think of us and our mission to help homeless men in our community through your help. We are a non-profit organization that supports our Men's Center 100% through your donations to our Resale Shop. We are currently in need of all gently used re-sellable donations in every category: living room, dining room, and bedroom furniture; housewares; books; clothing; wall art; small appliances; etc.
We do offer a Pick-up service for furniture.
Please call (219) 286-7061 to schedule an
appointment for pick up. Our donation door is open Monday thru Friday, 10:00am to 4:30pm, and Saturday, 10:00am to 3:30pm.
As always, we are very grateful to all that donate
and shop at our Resale Shop. It's only because of your kindness and generosity that we are able to continue our mission to help homeless men in our community. Please remember that all proceeds of your donations stay within this community.
God
Bless.

CLC Social Ministry and Mission
February 2022
Speak up for people who cannot speak for themselves. Protect the rights of all who are helpless. (Proverbs 31:8)
Social Ministry Emphasis for February is Hilltop House https://www.hilltophouse.org
February’s emphasis is to provide monetary and volunteer support for Hilltop House and Hilltop Food Pantry. HH is located “on a hill” in a neighborhood west of Valparaiso U. where social service needs are real for the families and children living
there. HH can provide as a health care provider Medicare and Hoosier Healthwise benefits to those in Porter County living below the poverty level (estimated to be 9000 children and 4000 women in Porter County). A gift of $50 permits Hilltop to provide childcare, health care, and community improvement activities within a child’s own family setting (also contributions may qualify for Indiana’s Neighborhood Assistance Tax Credit).
Help achieve our goal of $2500 in February (over and above giving combined with CLC’s budgeted amount of $1200). By achieving our goal CLC will help Hilltop House continue to thrive. Use your weekly worship giving envelope
mailed with check to CLC and indicate “Hilltop” or contribute through PushPay on the CLC website https://clcvalpo.org via the “Give” button. Thank you to members for supporting monthly social ministry emphases.
COWBOY UP! Hilltop’s SOUPS Dinner is back in 2022! Help support this fundraising event by attending on
March 1, 4—7:00 p.m. In the Valparaiso University Harre Union Ballroom.
