Today's livestream -- what happened?
|
We know how important our livestream presence is to you, because it is even more important for us to have you with us! Today we encountered a technical problem (the computer we use for broadcasting chose to freeze right at the end of the prayers) that interrupted our broadcast, and by the time we were able to reboot and restart, the livestream links had expired. We recorded locally as quickly as we could, but there is a gap
where we were unable to capture any video, which unfortunately includes most of Holy Communion including the Words of Institution and when we invite our livestream beloveds to commune with us. We're uploading the ending of the service, including announcements and closing hymn, as a separate video available on our webpage.
To learn from this, we've asked our livestream providers to help us understand our various options for interrupted streams; we're taking a look at our streaming computer to see if there's any hints of what happened; and we're verifying we're using the best settings for what we're trying to do.
